Almon “Skip” McCarty is an alumnus of Odessa-Montour. He attended SUNY Geneseo where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Secondary Certification in Social Studies. While working towards a master’s degree from Mansfield University, he obtained 7-12 certification in Special Education. Later he would earn his Educational Leadership degree from SUNY Brockport. Prior to returning home as the Jr/Sr High School Principal at Odessa-Montour, Mr. McCarty taught Special Education and Middle School Social Studies in the Spencer-Van Etten School District and taught Middle School Social Studies in the Corning-Painted Post School District. Mr. McCarty has coached a multitude of athletic teams for both boys and girls programs at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, modified, and youth levels.
