🎨 DDP (Design & Drawing for Production)

Students are continuing to make progress on their custom camp chair projects! This week focuses on construction, sanding, staining, and adding personalized finishing touches - like using our laser engraver. As projects move closer to completion, students are evaluating their designs, making adjustments, and documenting how their final products compare to their original plans.

Tech 7 students are wrapping up their wood-burning projects and beginning to learn about laser engraving technology. They are exploring the history of technology, practicing how to find and cite Creative Commons images, and completing laser engraver training. Students are also researching important inventions and innovators to better understand how technology shapes our world.

📐 Tech 8

Students are completing their personalized nameplate projects and beginning to explore careers in technology and skilled trades. In class, they are reflecting on their interests and strengths while researching career pathways. Students are also beginning their next woodworking project by creating designs, sketches, and proposals for custom wooden plaques.

🍂 Fall weather is here, and temperatures can change quickly throughout the day.

As part of Safety Week, we encourage families to help students dress for the weather by layering clothing, bringing a light jacket or sweatshirt, and wearing appropriate footwear for outdoor activities and bus rides.

A little preparation goes a long way in helping students stay comfortable, healthy, and ready to learn.

🏆⚽ CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON FOR GRIZZLY SOCCER! ⚽🏆

The Odessa-Montour Varsity Boys Soccer Team has done it again, capturing its third consecutive IAC Small School South Division Championship with an impressive 8-3 victory over Tioga! The Grizzlies have also punched their ticket to the IAC Championship Game on Oct. 17 at TC3, adding another chapter to an already outstanding season.

The Odessa-Montour Varsity Girls Soccer Team remains tied atop the division standings after a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Union Springs/Port Byron. Now, the girls will head into a division tie-breaker game next week with the title on the line!

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 🔥

This week, we are highlighting the importance of fire safety at school, at home, and throughout our community.

From checking smoke alarms and reviewing escape routes to practicing safe habits and knowing what to do in an emergency, preparation can make an important difference.

We encourage all Odessa-Montour families to take a few minutes this week to review a fire safety plan together.

A special thank you to the Schuyler County Emergency Management Office and our local fire and EMS departments for facilitating the Learn Not to Burn program for our students. Their partnership helps provide valuable fire safety education and preparedness skills that can make a lifelong impact.
